盖尔Fenske

盖尔Fenske teaches subjects in art and architectural history, including the history of modern architecture; American architecture, 都市生活, and landscape; and the introduction to global art and architectural history.  Her teaching and research emphasize art and architecture’s intersection with broader social and cultural contexts, 其中城市, 技术, 和视觉, with the latter incorporating the printed media, 摄影, 和电影.

她是《 The Skyscraper and the City: The Woolworth Building and the Making of Modern New York (University of Chicago Press, 2008) and co-editor of 阿尔托与美国 (耶鲁大学出版社，2012).  她目前正在准备 Skyscrapers: Landmarks in American Cities for publication with the Library of Congress.  She is also the author of several essays in books, among them 摩天大楼哥特式 (University of Virginia Press, 2017), The American Skyscraper: Cultural Histories (Cambridge University Press, 2005), and 现代性景观 (John Hopkins University Press, 1997), and of the bibliography “Skyscrapers” for Oxford Bibliographies in 拱itecture, Planning, and Preservation (Oxford University Press, 2020).

She has recently served as Book Review Editor, the Americas, for the Society of 拱itectural Historians Journal, 在秘书办公室工作, Society of 拱itectural Historians, and on the Board of Directors for the Global 拱itectural History Teaching Collaborative (Andrew W. 梅隆基金会和麻省理工学院). 

At Roger Williams University, she has served as Director, Program in Art & 拱itectural History for the Cummings School of 拱itecture as well as serving on the Honors Advisory Council, 教师参议院, and the Foundation to Promote Scholarship and Teaching.
