Dr. Mele teaches courses in the University Writing Program and in the Minor for Professional and Public Writing.

She has co-developed faculty-led study abroad programs that place travel writing at the core of students’ global experiences.  Over the last five years, she has travelled with students to Dublin and Rome, teaching such courses as travel blogging and the art of the travel narrative.  She offers travel writing courses on the Bristol campus as well.  Her recent publications and presentations focus on travel writing pedagogy. 

Dr. Mele’s travel essay about the Listowel Writers Conference in County Kerry, Ireland, appears in The Gettysburg Review.  目前, she is working on a travel memoir, for which she has received a grant from the Foundation for Scholarship and Teaching.

During her tenure at Roger Williams University, she has served as the University Writing Program coordinator and chair of the Department of Writing Studies, 修辞, 和组成.  She has been a member the FCAS curriculum committee, the 教师 Review Committee, and the Honors Advisory Board.

Dr. Mele is also a Core faculty member.  She teaches Core 104: Literature, 哲学, and the Examined Life, and a Core Senior Seminar—Globetrotting:  Inventing and Reinventing Ourselves. She is a member of the Core 104 Curriculum Committee.
